I can reproduce it, had delay using ubuntu 12.04 updated till 07/06/12 buuuuut when using GIMX from terminal i had no delay.
Edited: Found the source of delay, just uncheck "Force updates" and everything works fine.

Yep, i use Linux as my main OS and use GIMX with it.
