Can't detect 360 controller for authentication

Post by CH3DD4R »

Ok, so, I cant detect the 360 controller for authentication. I've verified this by trying it with my PS3, and it works fine, but using the xbox controller for authentication apparently doesnt work. Past the kernel version, it says:

Code: Select all

Detected USB adapter: 360pad.
Reset sent to the adapter.
No controller was found on USB buses.
adapter_detect failed
I'm using a MadCatz controller for authentication. I have confirmed that it works on the console itself, so it does have authentication. Does GIMX not like third party controllers? I can get an official one, if I need to...

Update: Now, I have a catagory in Device Manager called libusbK USB Devices, with MadCatz GamePad under it.

So, are you saying it will only work with a first-party controller?

Dang... that was a cost I wasn't planning on. Ok, I'll check out some pawn shops later today. Thanks a LOT, by the way, for the work you put into this software. I tried it on PS3, and it was really good (except the mouse, because the only mouse I had within my reach was 800dpi, and I still had it set to the 2200 dpi of my mouse) and MUCH CHEAPER than an XIM 4. No noticeable input lag, even on my dated janky old laptop. Really great work on this.
