Would you recommend playing race games with keyboard ?

I have been trying to play all games with gimx since I bought it, except for some rpgs and race games. Now I am experiencing known ds4 l2 button faulty, it moves r3 when I press l2 and it kinda annoying to play with gamepad. Did any of you ever try to play a racing game with the keyboard config ?
