Everything depends on what you like to use as an OS in my opinion.
I made an usb adapter and i think it was easy, little nervous in the beginning cause of the small soldering.
I tried the bluetooth version but that forces me to use an OS that im not used to.
You can make cheap usb adapters like using the minimus avr v1 and the usb with pins and cables.
