Is the use of a Sixaxis controller necessary for the GIMX to work or does it work with a Dualshock, too?

The wiring has been checked today and it turned out to be in order. I don't know what to do. Can somebody tell me if the PS3 will display anything e.g., that there is a new controller or something like that? Do I have to change something like the controller number? forgot to mention that the headmouse is now (with the alternative DLL) recognized.

With the original DLL the PS3 dualshock didn't work but there was also no sign that the PS3 has recognized a input device and mouse or keyboard inputs didn't do anything on PS3. In the GUI-output it did work. I started GIMX-serial and then I started the PS3 while both ends of the GIMX were connected.
