mrwhite81 GIMX HUD project

Post by mrwhite81 »

It would be so awesome to fiddle towards my wack idea to capture the hdmi from the console, maybe perform AI object detection, enhancement, add osd and then pass it to the display. Together with access to modify controller inputs it would let us try Helping huds, hardware aimbot, tobii eyetracking, emulated VR and lots more...
But first I need to build a working gimx + pi. Ohoj silver away!

Voila! That überbasic adapter is alive!
A Rasperry pi zero w + zero4usb hub is on it's way. Image

All is working fine. I don't own a xbox one Model 1537 controller so I borrowed one to test everything out.
I installed latest ubuntu and all needed build tools. Np building firmwares, gimx or serialusb. I looked through some code and got adhd-poi to getting the new controller to work before I started on next thing. So I researched the authentication / handshake, compiled serialusb, dumped a capture, replaced values and created a new emuxonev2.hex edited gimxsource and so on.. But there is more changes in the protocol / procedure than changes of strings and the day only got 24h, so what tomorrow will sidetrack me on during the process to understand the code is a wait and see. 😀 Maybe get a ps4 or try running on raspberry pi, design a hud layout or just keep fiddling. So much fun here. Great work .

I'm currently working on the G920 emulation, and made interesting discovering in the process: one of the very first output reports contains the VID, PID, and serial number.

I got my xbox controller to work. You want me to send what I changed in the code somewhere?

I tried playing bf1 with your config using a 3.5mm Audio jack controller. Works just fine.
Although I forgot to see if you could use the audio jack. My guess is no, But I'll test it later.
I sended the code in in "programfix" format to matlo.
Tomorrow Ill try getting an autodetet controller version code working.
/ cheers.

Thanks for the details. I'll see what I can do with this. I'd like to have a single firmware to avoid confusing users.
