Wheels on XBox One with GIMX

Post by Vegz78 »

THIS IS NOT A THREAD ASKING GIMX ABOUT ETA FOR XBOX WHEELS
(but great if they have info that they want to share with us here, or how we might contribute)

Hi,

I understand that this issue is somewhat of a mine field, where it is easy to make a wrong step and get accused of nagging about ETA, posting in the wrong section or whatever. So I won't ask about ETA and I hope the replies here, if any, won't either.

However, I am under the impression that the subject about wheels on XBox One(and later consoles) is in great demand by potential and existing GIMX users and it is really fragmented all around on this forum.

I am therefore hoping that this thread could be a place for the community to share
-their different working setups and tweaks for racing wheels on the XBox One with GIMX,
-status/news the community has picked up about this, and
-ways that the community might contribute to this feature

Status today, as I understand:
-Wheels work today on the XBox One with GIMX, with authentication as a controller, but without force feedback.
-There is work in progress on GIMX firmware emulation on the XBox One based on the G920 wheel:
https://github.com/matlo/GIMX-firmwares ... MUG920XONE

Sources(among many fragmented others):
https://forum.gimx.fr/viewtopic.php?t=2948
https://forum.gimx.fr/viewtopic.php?t=3313

Anyone that has a great setup or tips to share about working wheels on the XBox One(or later consoles), or maybe experiences and own successful experiments/tweaks with the GitHub firmware G920 emulator?

same thoughts here.

if you look into https://github.com/matlo/GIMX-firmwares ... XONE/emu.c, it seems the code to handle actual messages/reports are not there yet.

currently, i'm using a DFGT on xone emulating standard controller with no support on ffb or simple rumbling.

would be more than happy to help testing if developer has an experimental firmware already.
