Hey sorry for the bump.

Has any progress been made? Has the USB replay tool been worked on?

I did work on the capture replay tool, but I did not get enough time to work on this (and it is low priority at the moment).

I came across this today, maybe it could be helpful. From what I've read is it actually does work.

I'm currently lacking time to work on this.
But there is hope I can fix it as I bought a Xbox classic a few days ago :)

Nice! Make sure you remove the clock capacitor ASAP, those are killing Xboxes.

Thanks for the tip! I'll also have to do some cleaning as the capacitor already leaked.

Could you clarify what you mean by that it works? And is there some documentation on how to get it to work?

I am very eager to get my G27 working with the original Xbox to play Project Gotham Racing.

I've read that it works, I've yet to try it myself. I may try it when I get the time. Theoretically you can either map the G27 to the Xbox controller, or use an additional GIMX adapter to handle G27 to Xbox 360 pad. Like I said though, I've yet to try this.

There should be documentation right on the GitHub. You need another piece of software that should be linked on there as well. There's a PDF wiring diagram as well.

I'm having issues getting mine working as well. If I use the EMUXBOX firmware provided in 5.8 it'll think the cable is not connected to the console.

If I use the hex file provided in this thread, it will act like its working properly, but the input of the controller does not respond on the console itself.

I'm using this cable: Image

With hex file in this thread:

Code: Select all

src/windows/gprio.c:26 gprio: failed to set priority class
global option -c with value `X360Pad.xml'
controller #1: option -p with value `COM3'
now reading arguments for controller #2
subpos flag is set
force_updates flag is set
auto-grab flag is set
GIMX adapter detected, controller type is: XboxPad.
no pass-through device is needed
using default refresh period: 8.00ms
No haptic source found for device 045e:0202
Haptic core has sink haptic_sink_os for joystick 0 (XInput Controller)
Timer resolution: min=156250 max=5000 current=4988
rounding timer period to 7980
With EMUXBOX provided in 5.8:

Code: Select all

global option -l with value `log.txt'
global option -c with value `X360Pad.xml'
controller #1: option -p with value `COM3'
now reading arguments for controller #2
status flag is set
subpos flag is set
force_updates flag is set
auto-grab flag is set
GIMX 7.15 x86_64
Windows 10 (or later) x64
Kernel version: 10.0 (18363)
GIMX adapter detected, controller type is: XboxPad.
../gimxcommon/src/windows/async.c:327 async_read_timeout: ReadFile failed: timeout expired.
Error: failed to read packet header from the GIMX adapter
Error: failed to get the GIMX adapter status.
