That's fascinating. So the PS3 USB is actually 1000 kz polling rate?

Someone might want to update the tutorials to state that the PS3 does support 1000 hz, so that 500 hz is recommended if it doesn't lag you.

The developer for XIM3 is claiming that the polling rate for the USB PS3 is 100 hz, NOT 1,000 hz... I think Matlo was right in the beginning. Can someone verify this?

The sixaxis and 360 pad can report updates at 100Hz and 250Hz respectively.
But the PS3 and the 360 can definitely get reports faster than that!

Since we are emulating the Sixaxis, it seems like polling above 100 hz would cause the PS3 to think it's not really the sixaxis, but I guess this isn't an issue for some reason.

The PS3 already polls at 1000Hz because the sixaxis declares itself as a device that can send an interrupt each 1ms.
But the sixaxis only sends an interrupt each 10ms.

The 360 controller declares itself as a device that can send an interrupt each 4ms, thus the Xbox polls at 250Hz.
If we tweak this value the Xbox polls faster.
