It depends on the user's needs. If you only want to play FPSs on ps3, there's no advantage.
GPP works with the ps3 and the 360, and it can work standalone with a sixaxis or a 360 pad.
It's also good for the GIMX project itself to run with a wider hardware selection.

Why would this require GIMX mod in order to work? If it's PC compatible, and the GPP seems to already translate random controllers/gamepads into signal to emulate as a sixaxis, won't it translate the m/k plugged into the PC?

How is this different from the USB GIMX adapter that I can build from the tutorial? It seems to act the same way. M/K goes into PC... which goes into USB adapter / GPP.... which goes to the PS3.

I hope you're not abandoning the other, cheaper adapter in favor of this one ;)

What other cheaper adapter? Are you referring to the USB adapter Matlo was selling for approx. $25 the last few months?

Or is this something new entirely?

Hi Matlo,

Has you in mind to order GPP to test with GIMX?

I already ordered one but I'm still waiting for the delivery.
And I can't promise it will work.

Fascinating :geek:

Now the question is ... will it blend?

Haha just kidding.
Whats the differences between that and GIMX using Teensy++? Can it pull the same polling rates? Emulates the PS3 controller 1-1 ( working PS button? ) and working properly in games like Resistance 3?
I see that you don't have the adapter yet but when you do could you share some extra light on the issues noted above.
By the looks of it, the adapter promises to do everything but I prefer some real factual input from someone that knows better, like you :p

Now that you've shown it I'm tempted to get one ... :? :!:

Hi Matlo,

Just for information, do you received your GPP device?
If yes how do you feel this system?

Hi,

Yes I received it. The device has a huge potential!

I didn't tested the GPP software as it only runs in Windows.

With the help of J2Kbr (the GPP creator) I managed to make GIMX connect to the GPP.

But I still need to work-around a latency issue on the PC-side.

I will keep you informed as soon as I get something working.
