Hi
I'm unable to install USBDK any way possible on WIN7 64bit. When I first proceeded to install from GIMX 4.2 installer , it failed that way that installer waited endlessly . I had to kill process each time. After this I had to force shut down of windows with power button. In mean time any USB device stopped working at all, even mouse. OK , I restored image with Clonezilla that luckily I made 3 days ago and tried again and again. After several tries and restores I tried to install USBDK 1.02, not 1.04, it installed fine, I mean it showed up in installed program list , but also any USB device stopped working at all. Also refreshing devices in Device manager hung it's process, and again, kill, power button, Clonezilla. I tried first to remove libusbk, with Zadig, nothing changed. Removing USBDK also is not possible now. I have to restore from image again. I'll try to disconnect laptop from docking station and disconnect anything but mouse. It looks hopeless. Any suggestions? Only thing connected is external drive on esata that takes power from USB with USB mini connector.
Ok, after unplugging everything from computer, installing new Gimx and trying few times , finally it get to work. I don't know what really helped, for sure at least partially helped disconnecting from docking station which had attached esata drive powered form mini USB. These USBDK drivers is a huge interference to the system. At the end Gimx started to work when I updated libusbk dll to the latest version.

Re: Unable to install USBDK
Hi,
Just to clarify, USBDK and libusbk are different components.
Did you got any error message when the installation of USBDK 1.04 failed?
Which USBDK version are you using now?

Re: Unable to install USBDK
When I tried to install USBDK separately , it failed with message about possible damaged file and about contacting system administrator or vendor, I can't recall exact message . Was very similar to this one here : http://askadba.blogspot.com/2014/04/set ... g-sql.html , but referred to installer main file.
I'm using version 1.0.4 now that came with GIMX . Unplugging from docking station solved the issue apparently. Laptop is Dell Latitude E5530

Re: Unable to install USBDK
Do we have to use UsbDK to run GIMX? maybe some other drivers in the future? Is there any alternative now? After succesful running GIMX 4.2 with UsbDk 1.0.4 (read above, it was not easy thing to to), I wanted to try GIMX 5.1, and again system instability and so on. Removing UsbDK 1.0.6 and installing 1.0.4 didn't help this time. Now only thing I can do is to roll back windows from image or undock from docking station and uninstall usbdk. USBdk is so buggy, causes instability :closing system (windows 7 64bit) is impossible, inability to start the system, only emergency mode. Any plugging into docking station causes all usb devices to not work also.
Not using docking station is not an option for me. I have reasons to use it every day

Re: Unable to install USBDK
Your problem may also be due to a bad driver that gets loaded when you plug your docking station. Did you look for updates on the manufacturer website?
To fix your issue you can try the instructions here: http://forum.gimx.fr/viewtopic.php?p=7084#p7084
USBDK is quite a new component, and I find it very promising. It has the ability to coexist alongside the default system driver. I find it painful having to uninstall the libusbk driver to modify the config, or to use the controller with other apps.

Re: Unable to install USBDK
Before trying libusbk, I think you should try updating the Intel drivers using the Intel Driver Update Utility.

Re: Unable to install USBDK
Hi,
According to a USBDK developer the issue may be fixed in USBDK 1.0.7: https://github.com/daynix/UsbDk/issues/9
It would be nice from you if you could test it. Make an image of your system before installing USBDK, just in case it goes wrong.

Re: Unable to install USBDK
Please, can i ask, is it still necessary to install USBDK, when im using GIMX for connecting wheel to XBOX360 and PS4 or not? Thank you
Re: Unable to install USBDK
Hi,
Please post your questions in a new thread.
The USBDK component (not to be confused with the libusbk driver) is included in the GIMX installer, and is required for consoles that require authentication.
The Xbox 360 and the PS4 require authentication.
