Game Input MultipleXer

May just be a simple yes or no answer. or it may not be....

I've been attempting to set this up so i can make my keyboard and mouse look like a controller to the PC.

So is Gimx going to work for what i would like to achieve?

The main target of Gimx is on consoles. So if you want to emulate gamepad from keyboard and mouse, I think you should looking for vJoy, UCR and x360ce software combination

I've looked into it and tried that method already, thankyou for the suggestion though. the game in question just switches from keyboard to controller every 2 seconds. i thought since the xim supports what i want to achieve Gimx might aswell.

is there a reasosn the PC wouldn't pick it up as xbox one controller? because i already have a second PC and other hardware needed to accomplish it.

This is not a supported use case, controller emulations are only tested with consoles.
There is are at least two controller emulation that should work on computer: EMUJOYSTICKPS3 and EMUG27PC.
Since you want to emulate a controller, try the EMUJOYSTICKPS3 firmware.
