is this an alternate version of gimx?

saw a setup where a guy plugged his pad into his windows laptop through usb cable. he used certain software to do similar stuff that gimx does, but I can't figure out what program it was. his account was long dead, so I couldn't even contact him

his pad seems to be plugged into his laptop without any converter inbetween, just microusb cable to usb and then to a usb extension and then into his laptop. but then he showed the other things that the PC connects to the PS3, and I don't know what the other things are between all that usb hubs and stuff, it was confusing because of the blurry video.

the user interface of the software is shown at 23 seconds, but blurry screen makes the program name unrecognizable, and from the screen shot it doesn't look like gimx

This setup seems very similar to the XIM1. There's a PS2 to PS3 adapter on the floor.

Gimx is far better than this as it does not require to use a low-end third-party adapter.

It's probably a custom UI that was never released.

It looks similar to the very first xim. The later xim adapters have different designs.

It's actually a XIM-1 frontend supporting analogue in-/ outputs and macros (for the 1st time back in the days) I've coded years ago.
It's "called XAE-ME". It was quite popular like ... 10 years +++ ago (?)

XIM-1 was a VERY cheap DIY adapter based on a Silabs controller you had to order from the US (Fort Worth/ Texas IIRC). You had to solder some wires, flash a firmware and were ready to go.
