G.I.M.X.'s Ubuntu requirement

It is written in the wiki that G.I.M.X. requires the latest version of Ubuntu to work with a bluetooth adapter. Does that mean that Ubuntu variants (for example: Xubuntu, Kubuntu, Lubuntu) will not be as efficient as using Ubuntu itself with G.I.M.X. I am worried about this because I use Xubuntu. I will change it if I have to.

Gimx should work fine on any Linux distro based on Ubuntu.

I see. I'll just get Xubuntu 14.04 then. I was told that Xubuntu 13.04's support ended in January. Xubuntu 13.10's support is ending in July. Do you think the version I want to get is viable?

XUbuntu 14.04 is a good choice.

I can also recommend Linux Mint 17 Xfce, which is based on Ubuntu 14.04 and Xfce.

I am used to using Xubuntu so I will just get it. Thanks anyway for the recommendation and for your help.
