i havent used linux alot lately but anyway

i downloaded the new .42 i was using .25

should i uninstall current GIMX then install .42?
or do i just go ahead and install .42 over .25?

im using ubuntu 11.10
should i update to latest linux in order to use .42?

Keep Ubuntu 11.10 if you are using bluetooth.

You don't need to uninstall the previous version, it will be done automatically.
