Teensy 2.0++ / at90usb1286 is no longer supported?

Hello,
recently I have change pc an reinstalled everything from scratch. Today I have installed the new gimx 8.0. I was notified that I need a new firmware update for my teensy 2.0++. I updated the firmware whith is own application but the adapter no longer works. Then I remembered that tensy 2.0++ needs a different firmware, the at90usb1286; The main firmware folder do not include those firmware.
If I am correct, Is there a workaround or I have to build a new adapter?

As far as I remember we dropped support for other chips than atmega32u4 because they were unreliable with gimx.

Where can I download older firmware? I would rollback to older version to make my adapter work again
