Hi guys,
I just built a DIY USB Adapter. It shows up in my Devices and in my Device Manager, but I have nothing showing in the pull down for the GIMX launcher software for a port. I'm running GIMX 5.8 x86_64 on a Win 10 OS. I've tried inverting the TX, RX wires but no joy.
I bought the chips off of ebay and followed the USB Adapter for Dummies page to the letter.
I can't seem to get it to recognize the USB to TTL, even though it's showing up in my Devices under COM3
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Greg

Did you install the CP210x drivers at the end of the GIMX setup?

Re: Hardware Funtioning No COM port in Launcher
Hi, I did install the (64 bit) drivers. I even tried again but it said I already have them installed. I tried the gimx diy on a different computer and it saw the board but would assign a different com port when I ran the gimx config program. Might just sell my g27 and get a g29. I have raspberry pi3 but I see that you need a raspberry pi2 because of the kernel.
Thank you for getting back to me though.

Maybe the CP2102 board is malfunctioning.
You may want to try with a CP2104 board (those are really cheap).
