PS4 setup

Post by will »

Hi Matlo,

Well done in getting the latest release out. I've been checking back periodically to see how the project is going. Now its able to work on windows with ps4 im interested in setting it all up again, previously I used an old version of Ubuntu / bluetooth on ps3 and it worked perfectly. I did try the USB adaptor with the PS3 and could never get it to work (perhaps faulty hardware! my post history probably shows me annoying you on more than one occassion with it!) now I'm interested in getting the set up working for the PS4. I'm unsure if the wiki is a bit ambiguous, all I need is the Teensy 2.0 module, I don't need to build the USB adaptor to make Gimx 3.0 work on Windows with PS4? or when it says Teensy, it means I need to build the adaptor interface?

Hi Will,

The PS4 page on the wiki only contains instructions for the Linux+bluetooth method.
If you want to stick to windows you have to build a DIY USB adapter.

I have Ubuntu installed, with the latest bluetooth chip. Gimx launcher asked for a Teensy, to make the linux/bluetooth work, I need a DS4 and just a teensy? how is it call connected up? I'm kind of asking before I go and get myself another teensy board incase I need to get a few more things to hook it all together!

Thanks Matlo,

I did look at the wiki and its vague to say the least in terms of how to use the teensy.

Does the Teensy plug into the PC / PS4? I have only tried it plugged into PC, I run gimx launcher, it finds the BT chip, it finds the DS4, then when it asks if the teensy is connected, i click yes, its an endless loop, it doesn't detect it.

Hi,

Did you load the firmware in the teensy? This can be done using the teensy loader.

Couldn't see which hex file to upload to teensy on ps4 wiki page so tried them all with no joy.

One question with regards to the windows set up, would it be possible, or is it still under developement to use a GPP CronusX with ps4?

Teensy 2.0
This is a temporary requirement used for pairing the bt dongle with the PS4.
The firmware to load is available at: http://gimx.fr/download/EMUPS4PAIRING.7z

It also can work with a Titan One (formerly known as GamepadProxy/Cronus/CronusMax), which can work with the PS3, the Xbox 360, the Xbox One, and the PS4 (with no touchpad support).
